Would you put its value around £60 ?

After having my crown marked as reject from CGS , I thought I would look what's around on the market Found this on Ebay , what do you think of the grading on this coin ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Victoria-Gothic-Crown-1847-Very-Rare-/252140999692?hash=item3ab4c6540c:g:bPkAAOSwI-BWLLfq

She must have the HOTS for you mate

If I try to phone , I will have to get past Semra, and I don't think that will happen I got what I wanted , to confirm it was not a fake, and it got a grade of EF which is what I was looking for As for the "Jeject" label , I was very upset at first , but can live with it
-
It came from an auction , and was described as "nicely toned EF" If it had said "re-toned" I don't think I would have purchased I,m not sure where "cleaned" came from , are you saying the coin would have been cleaned and then re-toned ?
-
I like that 1902 crown , may have to have a go for that one....
-
If I had a choice I would not send it to CGS , but there is not a lot of choice on where to send a coin for authentication in the UK Good luck with your grading , I hope you have better luck than I did

I collect silver decimal sets , but I never buy from RM. My collection is about 2 years behind, because that's when they start to appear for sale on the internet (some times for a lot less money than RM sold them for)

I think its such a shame that my coin gets marked "Reject" , and it looks a lot better than most for sale I,ll get over it , soon.........................

Shocking Experience from CGS - Coin Grading Services - Forum Advice Pl

Dave, can you open and re-use these slabs or are they permanently sealed once slabbed ? R My concern with plastic holders and coin capsules for that matter is that the size of hole is in mm increments. So for a crown size 38.6mm, one needs 39mm capsules / holder. Since this is not an exact fit, I am worried that the coin will get high points friction over time. Would crown size fit into a 38mm foam inset for these holders? Is it possible to get capsules that fit the coin size exactly? There is a piece of what feels like rubber around the edge of the coin to hold it in place to stop any friction -

OMG , now I have a face to rant my anger at LOL Here Semra , I have a picture for you to look at .... ITS OUT NOW.......

On the CGS web site , if you read about the slabbing process , it states a "reject" coin has the option of not being slabbed , I was not given this option I paid the higher rate to get my coin turned around in 30 days , should I note have been informed that they had changed this Anyway on with life , I have learned a lesson here , and I wish I had read all the comments on here about CGS first

I wish I had read this before I sent my crown to CGS. I have written a few emails to complain about the service I received, and did not get any reply I won't be using CGS again for any of my coins...... -
I,m sorry to say , but I think the reason for refusing my request to not slab my coin was to lower its value, and keep the number of EF Gothic crowns down , making the others more valuable !
-
From what I read on the internet , CGS are very strict on their grading (as I found out myself)
-
I had a few problems with CGS UK that I think I should point out 1. On the form coin submission form I selected a one month turn around time, little did I know that they changed this to three months without telling me 2. While on the phone to them after a month to ask where my coin was, I was spoken to very rudely by a foreign lady who would not answer any of my questions 3. When I received an email stating my coin had failed grading, and would be marked "Reject-re-toned" I called them again, and asked for my coin not to be slabbed. The response was its too late (1 day from receiving the email). If you read the grading process on their web site , it states I should have had the option to not have my coin slabbed. The only reason the coin was sent to them was to confirm it was not a fake. I think the coin looks great (I don,t know about re-toning) and will be keeping the coin because I like the way it looks
