Hello all i recently bought a 1691 3 pence but i really dont know much about Maundy Coins perhaps one of you guys or girls can enlighten me as to whether its a first or second bust ive been struggling to find photos of the varieties of that particular year. Help needed on this one. A fairly rare coin i believe or is it? -

To be honest im more of a copper lover than silver, i think it gives a coin more personality i recently picked up the little cracker patina beauty spot to boot. -

Totally agree any item is only worth what anyone is willing to pay whether its a coin watch car whatever i dont take these prices as gospel just as a relative but its not in the same ball park as a 1689 say. -

Once it arrives i will post better pictures of it these are the sellers pictures i paid 1800 rand for it works out about £100 did my spidey senses leave me. Bummer. -

Thanks Paddy i was hoping it was worth a bit more than that coin yearbook 2016 prices on 2nd bust were F 260 VF 420 and XF 570 first bust more than that as you say, so i thought it was quite an elusive coin. -

According to Londoncoins only 5-10 are known to exist, now is this some bs from them to jack up prices? I dont know have no idea, Heres 3 of them. Do members know of any others, do any members have any? Im trying to put all known examples on this thread to compare can anyone help?

London coins only dealt with their first one in sep and 2nd in dec. All those years and two come at once. both sold £1100 each. -

I must have the most amazing letter box in the history of mankind i really do for instance while trawling the seas of the bay i came across these two little gems an 1897 raised dot penny in job lot bought for 25.99 an 1844 e over n half farthing for 16.00 i bought both. 2 days ago this dropped through the door then this morn i get this the raised dot dissappeared and the e over n amazingly changes to a normal e..... mmm what do think guys is a new letterbox in order? Let me know your views. Thanks

The photo is crap yes but its there, the seller has admitted is sending me the correct one now. check the e in regina in top photo. check in bottom. diffrent coin. both chancers.

Oh and forgot to say all coins in penny joblot came with sellotape dirctly over all coins leaving sticky residue/glue all over them. how nice!

The scanner doesnt work great on silver coins can be a little bright heres it soft focused by 1. Mabye i didnt get so cheap after all! thanks for the replys.

not copper but a cple of bronze medals from 1893 marriage of future king and queen. a spink and son and a city of london series. -
i seen that 3 over whatever on one other example exact same sold at london coins. it said needs further study.
