Hi Peter, Thanks for the info. I just weighed it and it is 8 grms and 24mm across. Would that make it a guinea? Robert

Indeed, and the image of him certainly isn't of his latter years where he was morbidly obese.

Hi, Rooting through an attic and have come across this. Almost certain it is a George III half guinea and have no wish to sell it. The last I on George III seems to be slightly hidden by the kings head which seems to be slightly different to other pictures I have seen. Robert

Yes it does say 'Died'. The full text is BORN 1762 DIED JUNE 26 1830 BELOVED & LAMENTED CROWNED JULY 19 1821 Robert

I have come across this 'token' and wondered if anyone knows what it is, or how/if it was used for anything? Robert

Thank you Rob. Robert

Hi Vicky, My scales are only accurate to the gram, but appears to be nearer 6 than 5 by the addition of further weight. Robert

Thanks Pete, I suspected so. Robert

Thanks again. Robert

OK, thank you, you know what you re looking at , i obviously don't. I seem to remember playing the game as a boy. I suppose if it is ground smooth it makes a better playing piece. I've picked a very small selection of some of the other coins. I'm pretty sure the george iii coin i gold as it i the only one in a protective wallet!, and there is a token which seems to be a tribute to george iv as well. I also seem to have a few hunderd 1967 pennies in mint/uncirculated condition. Robert

Thanks again. What do you think? Robert

Thank you. To me it looks unstruck and there certainly don't appear to be any filing marks. Having trouble uploading photos but will work it out during the course of the evening. Robert
