Well he's been hanging on in there for a fair old time. Or is it the terminal illness otherwise known as "life"?

It's funny you should mention this seller - I saw this yesterday but couldn't quite get past the listing title to get to the coin.

    Brockages and other errors

Think he tells fibs too: "I have never seen an error close to this on this penny series" What about the other 3 then?
  8. I thought someone might for the price, and I'm pleased you've had it Brian. I nearly did myself, but not really my thing. I thought the same as Rob, although in my head it went more like: "It's not post mint, you can still see his lug'ole."

  12. Righto, just to stop Pete moaning, here is a post. I acquired this 1797 pattern farthing quite recently. I understand that it is gilt copper. Other than that I know nothing about it as it's not in any of the books I have. So can someone tell me more about it please? Cheers, Jon

    1797 gilt pattern farthing

Today I took this to Format Coins in Birmingham, where Garry Charman took not much time at all to confirm it is 100% legitimate. He did say it had had a hard life. 90% knackered, perhaps, but genuine. ?

Nah, I meant the pair of identical, consecutive lot half crowns but your post got in the way.

    LCA December.

Did anyone point it out to them (the half crowns)? What happened with the one you bought from Bucks Paul?

    Warwick & Warwick

Posting them's easy. It's taking good ones in the first place that I have difficulty with.

    Warwick & Warwick

Some pictures would be nice VS. Please.
  21. If they call me I'd be more likely to use words like "defenestration". Although these days I just answer (so it costs them money), then just leave the phone on the side and wander off, à la Nordle.
