  3. What's happened to my 1967? Pete you said I could have it.
  4. I tried putting a couple of bids in last night but they didn't appear to be submitted for some reason. Do you get email confirmation or anything?

Which might suggest this is one of those restrike thingies?

    1806 farthing - variety?

Thanks Rob. I was confused about the K because I couldn't make it out on the photos on Colin's site. This has a K on the reverse. Do the others have a K both sides or just on the obverse?
  7. I think it's the word "cartwheel" that sets 'em off.

    I've no ideas

Yeah, I think it's right but surprised the weight is high when the example's in the smaller range for diameter. As you say though, could be an error. Monumental task is about right too - fantastic reference is Krause. Where do I sign up to the aforementioned forum?

Something's not right. The weight doesn't fit.

This is the correct Krause entry I think: I wouldn't know how to recognise the date though.

Help needed capital cities £1 coins

Dave, the Edinburgh coin is the most difficult to acquire I believe. As a set, you should be looking at no more than £6 + postage if you really can't wait for them to turn up in your change. If you like to play on Facebook, see if you can join the group "English coins for sale and wanted" and ask on there. You should be able to get them pretty quickly. Personally, I would rather wait until they turn up in my change. I got a Belfast one yesterday.

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

And furthermore: " ONE OUNCE OF COPPER WORTH 2 PENCE " Scales broken?
  17. Well that's encouraging at least.
  18. It's just not good enough, is it Pete?
  19. Yes. And CGS (UIN 26554 - another "11 leaf" that's actually a 10).
  20. Just hypothetical Pete. There are a couple of lots that interest me but have no photos. I am therefore entirely reliant on the accuracy of LCA's description as I cannot make the trip to look at these. This makes me a little uncomfortable, especially as I've not successfully bought from them before. Do you find that they are usually reliable?
  21. Fingers crossed for you! Look forward to you posting a triumphant result.
  22. It gives me less confidence in bidding, especially given the number of lots without pictures. Presumably you can return items that have been incorrectly attributed, but what if you disagree with the grade?
  23. I know, and I'm only half your age.
  24. Because they're professionals so I expect them to get it right and not make basic errors.
