I purchased a lot of them and to be honest i cannot say i have seen the majority of the £2 coins before and some i paid less than £2 but postage was mostly in the £1.50 range for them. The Northern Ireland commonwealth games was the most expensive single coin and the set of Shakespeare were £18.

I should have Googled it first and I agree with you.
-
I have been reading about fake coins and noticed that the Kew has some knocking around. I have weighed mine at 9 grand but it should be about 8 grand and there is a difference with the queens eye against an origina. I hope mine is not a fake as I cannot afford another.
-
Hi can I ask what 50p in slabs are. Dave
-
I really don't like dirty coins but with my collection of £1, £2 and 50 pence coins I did not think it would matter. I have some Victoria coins but they are as i had them and I will post some pictures so others don't make the same mistake I have. I have not collected the Olympic 50 pences but I do like to collect 50 pences.
-
Hi Jon I have nearly all the £2 coins except the Magna Carta and HMS Belfas and i am now wary of fakes even these two have fakes. Thanks Dave
-
Oh **** mind you the Kew was nice anyway and i will take some pictures and let you see what a mess my collection looks like and how it's worthless now.
-
Hi Peter I collect £1, £2 and a small collection of 50 pences and in the coin world I have possibly ruined them as they have been cleaned and polished so the detail shows up. Dave
-
My collection of £2 coins is ruined as far as coin collectors go as 99% of them have been cleaned just like my £1 coins and I now wish I had left them even though they found look nice.
-
I am financially better off this month so I have spent out on a real Kew not cheap but I do have a small collection of 50p coins. I am shocked at how many £1 and £2 coins there are that are fake as well. Dave
-
Sorry not been very well and the guy had the coin off has been in touch and I asked him for another but I am not holding my breath. Dave
-
It seems like I am going have to pay silly money to complete my set again.
-
Hi Peter I understand what you are saying but this is something that came out of the blue and is something i would never do to anyone.
-
I would not mind if it was one of my other coins as i was really pleased and proud with owning a Kew 50p only to find out its a fake and it was my talking point to others and now i feel stupid and gutted.
-
I was loving collecting but this has been a kick in the stomach i did not expect and it was fun whilst it lasted. thanks everyone from Dave
-
My problem is i take people at face value and i have trust but it appears to have failed me this time as the Kew 50p was my pride and joy.
-
I cannot trace who i purchased it from but i am thinking of not collecting anymore coins as i obviously am not experienced enough and i should have done my home work but i always take people at their word as that is how i lead my life and i guess this sounds like i am throwing my dummy out of my pram but i am not i am just really gutted. Thanks Dave
-
This coin was my pride and joy and now I feel gutted as I would never do that on someone.
-
I hope it is not a fake. Dave

I have recently purchased the three Shakespeare £2 coins and does anyone know if they are going to be minted in their millions or just BU and proof because if they become ten a penny I have wasted my money.
-
I will be traumered if they go into mass circulation and i will have wasted £23 but on the plus side i only need two more £2 coins to complete my collection.
-
I am not sure if the three Shakespeare coins are going to be minted in their thousands or millions and go out as tender or are they just going to be like a commemorative collection.
-
It seems on the large auction site nearly all 50p coins £1 coins and £2 coins are rare according to the adverts. That means my collection is worth I kings ransom "not"
-
I have just purchased the set of three and knowing my luck they will be minted in the millions.

I wanted a Millennium year 2000 coin set but the Royal Mint changed the shape of the case from the oblong style to a con caved edge style and it did not fit in with my other sets in a book formation. So i thought i know i will buy a BU set and a BU crown and then purchase a 1999 empty case and put the coins in which i have done. Now i have done it i think i have ruined the BU set and should have left the coins in the cardboard packet. Dave
