It is better to worn down a coin from AU to VF, then strike VF from the beginning. It would look more natural. -

Sure HA coin has much higher grade. The higher grade the more attention to a coin, so it is much easier to sell 10 VF fake coins instead of one in XF or even higher. And it is very easy to turn XF to VF. -

Btw, just to be clear - I think "Chinese fakers" could buy a good coin (not so expensive and 100% original) from the HA. And used this coin as a model to produce fake dies. -

Hello! Look at the eyebrow and the second pearl from a cross on the crown. They have the same damages, which was hand-made, not during a minting process. Also I can see some other similar scratches. -
