No problem with your English Matteo. And we all like talking about coins so hopefully you'll find people to answer any questions you might have.

Welcome!

Welcome to the forum. When you say Edwardian pennies, I assume you mean medieval rather than Ed.VII?

You want The Galata guide to the Pennies of Edward I/II and the coins of the mint of Berwick-upon Tweed by Paul & Bente Withers. ISBN 0-9543162-5-8. This is their home page. http://www.galata.co.uk/default.asp

You will find it by scrolling through the Books section - £25. There are others, but this is arguably the best.

Paul & Bente are very helpful :)

A very warm welcome Matteo!

Do you mean English Hammered Coinage Vol 1/II by JJ North?

Amazon have both:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/English-Hammered-Coinage-Vol-D/dp/0907605451/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1444300102&sr=8-3&keywords=English+Hammered+Coinage

Hi Matteo.. A copy was listed (along with other books) for sale at a recent auction (Last Tuesday):

http://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/tooveys/catalogue-id-srtoo10050/lot-c3ed551f-129b-42a9-b094-a47c00ad463b

The results do not have a price for that lot so maybe it didn't sell. You could perhaps email the auctioneers and see if it is available? A link to their email address appears on the Saleroom website.

Ah, yes. Sorry. I was confused by the website! However I suspect an auction search might be a good route. It seems to be one of the scarcer Sylloges. In that I haven't found it through any of my usual sources.

Books in italian on english coins are probably non existant , a pity but not surprising as there would be a very small market and so specialist

I must admit italian coins have had such a colorful existance over the years I am surprised you dont just specialise in them .

Remember napoleons italy and mussolini

No help right now but quite a few members here are also coin dealers. Possibly one of them might help if they know to look out for a copy for you.

A post here: http://www.predecimal.com/forum/forum/57-wanted/ certainly can't do any harm!

Ah, well.. although mainly a British forum, several members collect 'foreign' coins and we have a thread where members can post photographs. I'm sure many of us would be interested to see some of your collection and read a bit more if you'd like to add something:

Ciao Matteo.

When I was younger I used to collect Italian coins (My father was Italian and I lived in Naples for a while). I am probably going to get rid of a few as I want to concentrate on UK Shillings. You may even be able to point me in the right direction in identifying some of them. Or even recommend a website?

Hi Matteo

I've started a thread, with a couple of pics.(in foreign coins area)

I've got quite a few coins, so it would be interesting to see if any of them are rare...so a website would be useful
