Parliament Acts

Recommended Posts

I've heard that the Hunting Bill has been defeated in the Lords again, and the Commons are going to use the Parliament Acts to force the Bill through into law. I know what the Parliament Acts are, but I looked at some of the Bills on which they were used, most notably the War Crimes Act of 1991. I've scoured the internet, but I can't find the reason why the Lords deemed it necessary to block the bill - can anyone enlighten me?

Just an honest opinion.......Tony Blair is in my opinion trying to ban fox hunting in order to make this society more multicultural and not making everyone who opposes or is not familiar with foxhunting uncomfortable or angry. This move will be similar to the move by some town councils and business banning Chrismas trees and nativity scenes.

I don't see how fox hunting has anything to do with race (which is basically what 'multi-cultural' is the PC term for). The hunters are white, so are the protesters. The hunters might well be toffs and the protesters are more likely to be working class, but those are not cultural differences on a par with banning Christian symbols.

I have no opinion at all on fox hunting, I like the traditional looking part of it but it does seem cruel to the foxes....Then what do I know, i'm not a country person.

Just Nanny Blair using his umbrella again and floating over the countryside dispensing more regulations or bed without your milk.
