The Property of a Cambridge Scholar

Recommended Posts

I bought a coin at DNW (1679 sixpence) which was described as the property of a Cambridge scholar. Would anyone know the identity of this person so that I can record provenance?

I was also bidding at DNW's 21st March auction but on the William and Mary... sadly, I was pipped and didn't quite win :( it was a nice coin too!

Sorry, no answer here...

Jaggy, what happened with the 1863 6d? My computer conked out its internet and so was not able to bid, though did get a couple of shillings...

Wow, you really did well. I certainly was not willing to fess up with a bid to beat that 1300 on the DNW piece in any case (I did get the 1863/1 shilling however).

Yes, rather pleased about that.

Who says that Heritage is always more expensive?
