Error coin

Recommended Posts

Ok so yesterday I got given a 5p coin in my change which went straight in my pocket, as usual. When I emptied my change out later in the day I noticed that the 5p looked different.  On observations, and research, it has many errors to the front, back and edge. Lettering missing, flattened out stamping, loss of details to name a few. So I'm looking for advice on what to do?  It it of value? Help please. Thanks. Hi Michelle, the missing letters are due to grease filling the die. Not uncommon and probably not worth your time selling it. Maybe a few pounds to the right person?

Welcome Michelle :) Just down to poor standards and quality control at the Mint, all too common these days!
