Coincraft?

Recommended Posts

Chris,

Have you any idea whether Coincraft are going to be releasing another catalogue anytime soon, i've got the last one, the 2000 edition, but nothing's been heard since? In my opinion this is disappointing as the Coincraft catalogue is one of the best i've ever come across.

Sylvester.

Yes you're right, it's a good catalogue, i think I have that edition too somewhere. Unfortunately I don't know when they will be printing another.

In fact I am very suspicious about Coincraft, the catalogue is good. However, in my opinion the coincraft website is full of over priced over hyped, mostly rubbish coins and I don't agree with how they may catch novices out with that kind of stuff!

They are a huge money making advertising machine and I don't like it!

Those 'rare' rolls of 1971 2p coins are a bit of a give away to the over pricing me thinks.

I've seen a fair few on ebay go for about face value.

Exactly,

Everything is rare and overhyped. Like the rare 1964 pennies they found in the cellar, that were put there some years ago wrongly labeled as 1967!

What a load of poop.

If I could sell junk-tray rubbish the way they do I would be a very rich man!! A few years ago, a top West-End store (can't remember who) were selling nicely packaged "old sixpences" for something in the region of £20 each. These were ordinary circulated cupronickel ones that go for 20p at Charing Cross.

I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I sold a cu-ni circulated 6d for £20.00

I'm sure they'll be nice coins, they sell a lot of very nice coins. Just don't be surprised if you find you paid a little extra for the convenience and packaging.

Do also have a look at my Roman coins on this site:
