Henry VIII Archbishop Lee Halfpenny?

Recommended Posts

I was searching ebay and I saw this coin listed an an Archbishop Lee Halfpenny. When I tried looking for similar coins I found examples that look completely different. Is this even an Archbishop Lee Halfpenny? If not what is it?

No idea what it is. It certainly isn't English.

For reference, it should look similar to the attached. A standard facing bust dividing E L and CIVITAS EBORACI on the rev.

Thank you for confirming this. That is why I asked, because I have never seen an English coin like it.

Yes , it's a Venetian coin called Soldino. I can't understand clearly under which doge was struck  , maybe Michele Steno.

You can find an interesting explanation about the circulation of venetian soldini in England on Richard Kelleher's book " A history of medieval coinage in England" at page 154.
