Is this a 17th Century Cork Ireland Farthing Token?

Recommended Posts

This token is struck off center so I can't make out the entire legend.  I think it says "FARTHING" on both sides...?  It seems like it may match the description of a Cork Farthing token but I have not been able to confirm with any photos with an online search - the ones I have found look different.  I think there are varieties though so maybe that would explain it?

It is sized about 18mm & 2.0g.

Thanks for any help :)

I'm going to answer my own question! :)  Before I posted this I had sent an email to an expert but the email bounced back to me and I thought it didn't go through to him but it obviously did since he just replied:

You have a Cork farthing Dickinson No. 203, issued c. 1656.  They come in 2 sizes.  Relatively common.
