Unusual sixpence

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I came across this sixpence while sorting through some of my coins. Can anyone shed any light on it.

I couldn't find one like it anywhere, the date is worn too.

Also just wanted to say that there looks like a hole was plugged in it. The rectangle is protruding and not recessed or cut into the coin.

Just been used in a piece of jewellery at some point. First suspended, then possibly as part of a ring?
