Victorian Half Crown and others

Recommended Posts

Guest leevan

I'm new to this forum and am not strictly a coin collector. However, I have some coins that my dad acquired in the 60s. We have some urgent property repairs to sort - so will be selling the coins before they all get lost. (we must have lost dozens).

I'm hoping that you folks will find an interest in giving me an idea of the condition of the coin and what I should stick a reserve of if I list them on Ebay. I guess most of them won't be worth much - but that's the funny thing about coins, a lay-person cannot begin to guess their value.

The first one is Victoria 1891 - seems pretty top condition to me.

That's a Jubilee head Vicorian coin, looks to be Extremely Fine in terms of grade. There is a little wear to the high points.

Unfortunately without seeing the back or knowing the size I have no idea which Victorian denomination it is?

Do yourself a favour, save hours of time and sell your coins to me. If you can give me a list and show me the nicest ones in pictures of that quality I'll make you an offer over email.

Thanks,

Chris Perkins

I spoke too soon! before you posted the Rev!

It's a Half Crown and I'd give you £25.00 for it.

Hi Chris. I actually have several dozen coins that I will be selling, but I was hoping to add to my knowledge as I went along. The coins date from Edward 1st onwards.

If you don't mind, I'd rather post a few more and see what other members think in the hope that I can stimulate a bit of interest and give the forum something to talk about.

Naturally, when I'm ready to sell I will be open to offers.

Yes of course, you're welcome to post pics of your coins and i'm sure you'll learn things along the way.

In these relatively early forum stages there are probably only 3 or 4 members that will be able to comment on what you have, and I too look forward to hearing what they have to say.

Thanks for sharing your info and images with us.

Thanks Chris. Obviously I don't want to 'hog' the forum with my stuff. I do have high definition photos of the coins I can Email if anyone is interested. I will be selling them before too long and I don't expect to get dealer prices for them. If I can get the basic 'going rate' for the coins I'll be happy. I just need to get a bit of confidence and knowledge first.

Any sixpences dated between 1675 and 1751 in there?

Grade dependant of course.

Sylvester.

Yes please do put them on the board too, I just check my email more often than the board.
