Hi, Just after a rough idea on what a 1852 groat would be valued at these days. Thanks in advance.

The 1852 Britannia groat is the second scarcest of the regular Victoria groats (after the 1853). Loking at recent sales online I guess yours would make around £200 - one sold at best offer under £220 on Ebay recently in slightly worse condition than yours, and there is another for £200 "buy it now" there at the moment. (This one is better in the reverse than yours, but worse on the obverse...)

In the end it is what someone is prepared to pay, which depends on how bad they want it.

That groat has been scrubbed without mercy! I think that might be at best 150 quid. The 1852 groat is a bit overrated IMO - I have three and had to leave quite a few around. The proofs of 1857 and 1862, not to mention 1837 and 1838 are quite rare as you probably know!
