British?

I am not sure if this is a British coin or not. It was given to me by a relative. Any guesses to what this coin is would be great! I attached an obverse picture....I do have a reverse picture if needed. Since I live in the US....no one I know that collects coins really knows what this is.

could my coin be a Herny VIII coin?........i'm not sure y then there are 4 "crowns" on the back...i see that the back of most of these coins have like a coats of arms

Does it say Henricus? (or something similar?)

I've no idea what it is, but you might want to try France.

Or maybe Spain.

If it's a Henry then it might be Henry IV of France. If it's Spain then the H in the legend might be part of HISP.

I'd tend to agree with Sylvester. The bust rt. has as a legend something that looks like FLP . L. D.G. HIS.....

The bust appears to be wearing a ruff, placing it 17/18th century. Just a guess!

The ruff makes me think it's Spanish.

Well, FLP could be a Philip and HIS could be Hispania... we need someone with a catalogue really!
