eBay have split milled coinage into two; 1816-1901 and 1901-1971. Finally I don't have to trawl through loads of rubbish!

:) ... assuming everyone lists in the correct category!

I gave up trawling a long time ago... I search for what I want. Ebay has some quite powerful features in the advanced searches and it can email you automatically as new matches turn up... let the items come to you!

I don't understand why ebay can't use the same categorizations across the board. The US site does not split the milled coinage up - in fact it doesn't even separate the milled from the hammered. This will mean that you could miss a lot of good stuff listed through that site (still used by many Brits, I might add).

And precisely which do you count as rubbish? :D

I've found listing my items much easier. However, some people are still listing their items in the wrong categories. ;):D

For me, I hate to look at post Edward VII stuff, of which there used to be the bulk in the old category. This new period nicely encapsulates G3 to Victoria :D

Hallelujah indeed...I agree with you that it is anoying having to "trawl through loads of rubbish!"

Although I would prefer to view the coins on eBay in houses (Hanover, Sax-Coberg Gotha etc...)

Well, it's not too hard to achieve this by searching for appropriate sets of dates... ebay lets you use wildcards and you can exclude as well as include patterns.

...in which case you wouldn't get very far if you were looking for Saxe-Coburg Gotha ;)

(And on University Challenge the other evening, neither team could spell "cemetery". O tempora, O mores!)

I dunno Olls i can live with coins upto 1919/20, after that well then it goes down hill.

I think by rubbish he meant Churchill Crowns and stuff of that quality.

I was glad they'd split the 1662-1815 and 1816-1971 stuff off sooner cos that saved wading through alot of rubbish too. ;)

Just wish they'd trim off the 18th century stuff too! :P
