Hi all, i just thought i would ask for help in ID'ing this "coin"? Im thinking James 1 medallion rather than coin...one side has James 1st facing left with wording:- JACOBVS.11 DEI.GRATIA, on reverse has DATE 1616 crown over harp wording:-MAG.ER.FRA.KT.HIB.REX ... appreciate any ideas. Thanks very much

it's Irish, James II, probably a halfpenny depending on size and type. The date is something other than 1616 though.

Expensive because they're nice coins, or expensive because they're unrealistically overpriced, and you haven't got a clue how to grade them? ;)

Please do send me a list, to cp@predecimal.com

Thanks,

Mr. Robinson,

Just a little correction to your list:

1424 Henry V Penny (York) VF @(price removed for privacy)

Is it 1424 (which fell during the reign of Henry VI), or is it Henry V (with a different date)??

Scott
