can't find this coin in the books

my reserch seems to indicate that the mint run ends in 1698 and started again in 1700 and I haven't been able locate even a picture of this coin. I have attached a picture.

Your 1/4d is the second issue type.(date in legend)

The first issue had the date in the exergue.

All William 1/4ds are rare....and unfortunatly often in poor condition.

Peck lists 5 varients for this date/issue BMC 681 TO 685 (682 being a silver proof) he differentiates between

full stops and whether the second A in Britannia is barred or not....you do need examples in Gf+ to be sure

(and these are expensive) :huh:

A nice coin all the same :D

ps just noted there is a nice picture in my 2004 Spink (ref 3558)
