Important Announcement

Recommended Posts

This offer is aimed entirely at the younger members, particularly the regular faces in here.

Some money has been made available by another forum member (who shall remain anonymous, unless he comes clean in here) to pay for attendance to the the June 11th London coin fair. Travel expenses (train or petrol money) for you and an adult guardian will be covered, as well as the admission fee into the fair.

Those interested in applying for a Predecimal.com Coin Fair grant should be in full time education (so, yes, that includes you Sylvester old man!) and should be an enthusiastic young collector preferrably from mainland Great Britain (sorry NI).

Talk in here, or PM me.

(The 'London Coin Fair' is on Saturday 11th June, at the Holiday Inn, Coram Street, London WC1. I'll be there selling stuff, so will Andy Bruce, and no doubt other familiar faces! Be there, or be a Churchill Crown)

I wouldn't want to go for just a few hours because it's four hours there, four hours back. I think I'll try to get down for a long weekend whenever the next one is - Septemberish I think? Maybe fly down too.

I will have to miss this too, sorry.

Reason 1: I will not have enough money by then.

Reason 2: I may be going whenever the next one after that is.

Ok, well if I have money left, I'll cover your expenses for the September one, Oli.

Just done a bit of research. For the fair in November (not September as I thought), to stay at the Holiday Inn where it's held is only £94 for two nights for two people. You can't get better located than that!

Oh I wasn't implying you pay for it, heavens no. I was just stating that it's an excellent price!

Yes I thought so, but I was just making it clear.

If you can't go to the June one Oli and JMD, then hopefully there'll be something in the kitty left for you come November.

Will you kindly cover my expenses as offered? I have two young and quite inquisitive collectors, they are specialising in pre-dec and Eastern Europe. We would very much enjoy the show and would kindly repay with kind within our environ :D

Yes, of course, where will you be coming from and how will you be travelling?

So far, that's you and your 2, plus Sylvester who seem to be coming at the moment.

My word, you are a true gentleman. We will be flying in from North America :D Actually I wish I could come, but I have business out on the West Coast of the USA unfortunately. I will be in Oxford and London, but not until early 2006.

To the people who have been before, what's the kind of ballpark figure you spend? Do you spend more than you plan? Is there lots to choose from?

I realise it varies event to event at Coinex, but on average.
