Seeking a chart for British milled predecimal dimensions

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have a handy chart or spreadsheet for British milled predecimal, showing all or many of the denominations, and their dimensions?

I just mean smth w 2 or more columns, most esp

Denom  |  Diameter

Years and weight and thickness and metal content would be great, too.

Thanks,

Jonathan

I have a spreadsheet that lists all the denominations by date back to 1655, showing which combinations are possible and which not, but it does not have dimensions or weights etc.

PM if you would like a blank copy. (I fill in the grade of the coins I have in each cell so that I know which I am looking for, or which would be an upgrade, when I am out shopping.)

How about this page from Chard's old web site?

https://24carat.co.uk/frame.php?url=specificationsofbritishpredecimalcoins.html

There's a more detailed table about half way down this wikipedia page too, but it doesn't have the silver threepence.

Thank you, the old Chard's page is great.

Strangely the wiki page has no table of the sort (might be localization differences).

A friend actually recently sent me this link to Chard's too. Sort of adjacent info.

That is strange. Maybe try this more specific link to a section of that page

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coins_of_the_pound_sterling#Denominations

It says " In the years just prior to decimalisation, the circulating British coins were: " and then there is a table.

That works, thank you.
