Was that flying bicycle thing in Supergran actually real?

I mean, how easy is it to build a human powered flying machine....One where can I get one!?

Supergran... by heck going back a bit here aren't we!

I must admit i think i have sen the odd episode many, many years ago but i can't remember any of them. As for flying bicycles, it's possible.

You'd have to have enough lift though to get off of the ground and maintain the suspension in the air. Going on those gliders i should think you'd need pretty big wings and a lightweight aluminium bike. Have you ever seen that film the Young Sherlock Holmes?

I should think it'd be a pretty cumbersom thing, kinda like the Wright brothers had, but with a bike. :D

There is a recognised record for "Human powered flight". :o Basically a glider fitted with a propeller driven from a modified bicycle. I have no idea how long they remained aloft, but it can't have been for long, although I do believe someone tried to cross the channel in one. I don't know if he succeeded! :D

I saw on telly once a human powered flying machine with pedals and a professional athlete somewhere very warm, and I seemed to remember his flew it for 72 miles!

But I'm not a professional athlete so I'd be happy with a supergran type machine!

Yes but didn't she use magic? (And i don't mean Timmy Mallet's cockerteil).

So you're not a professional athlete, but are you registered to do magic? ;)

Or are you a muggle?

What have you taken today Syl?!?

Of course she didn't use magic, it was a real flying bicycle.

Do you think they'd have them on ebay if I looked?

Apparently a couple of UNC 1934 Crowns will fly you around the world...a couple of times.

I think Drew Barrymore invested in a couple of the flying bike prototypes.

Glorious kids fete today...I was on the coconut shy...my poor back....and agressive 5 year olds.

Relaxed in our new 10ft dia pool this evening....highly recommened....reaches up to the nether regions.

Its gonna be hot for a few days :D

I know it's awful innit. I've ran out of stuff so i'm stopping in today with all the windows and doors closed.

Unless i've got some hayfever stuff lurking in one of the cupboards somewhere... i bloody hope so.

These days I imagine you could get quite a bit of help from solar cells in the wings... I bet you're at the mercy of the wind though!

That's so cool, where can I get one?

No traffic problems here, but imagine commuting in one. Simply fly 10' over the cars.
