Unusual 2005 50p coin

Recommended Posts

Guest Reverend Day

I have come into posession of a very unusual 2005 5op coin. It has a regular front but on the obverse is a number of dictionary like inscriptions with references to a dictionary. I was wondering if anyone new anything about it. Also does anyone know its value and where I may be able to sell it. I am not on this site often so if people could e mail me at laverac@lycos.co.uk Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Reverend Simon Day

Like that, but in a silver colour?

It was struck in 2005 to commemorate Samuel Johnson's dictionary, and is worth about 50p. Fools on eBay would pay more though.
