Hi, all

Just wonder how much a 1826 George IV Crown is worth?, like the one in Emperor Oli's recent Reimages post.

Well a little more 'faded' though!

Oli's coin is an 1826 shilling!!!!!!

The most common of the George 1V issue.

Book price £8 in fine & £25 in VF.

I would give Oli's coin GVF from the images.

It's a sixpence actually, but I tend to get them confused. You can only really tell by the size, of which that photo doesn't give much information. Took me ages to find a decent enough example. The dealer had it marked up at EF prices and sold it for nEF, the grade I thought it ought to have.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies.

Im just wondering how much one of those coins is worth, as I have one along with some..

One Pennies 1947, 1916, 1967, 1948, 1964, 1966

Half Pennies 1917, 1964, 1955, 1967, 1944, and 1884 (I thinkg, has a faded Queens head facing left)

Three Pence 1943, 1950, 1953

Six Pence 1959, 1947

One Schilling 1955, 1958

Plus about 3KG, of other old and foreign coins taking up space in a closet.

Regards

If the oldest 1d and 1/2d are uncirculated they would be worth between £25/35.

If in average circulated less than £1.

All the rest of your coins are common (even in top grades) and worth very little.

The exception could be the 1950 3d which is a fairly rare date, however of a "little collected" series.

Hi,

The 1950 3d, I have compare with the pictures and info about coin grading at http://www.predecimal.com/coingrading.htm

I would place it between F & VF condition.

Not that my un-experianced judgement makes any difference to its price?
