Don't get hooked up on date runs. You are bound to come up against that astronomically priced date you MUST have. Suicide is the next step! :lol:

Very sound advice, particularly if you are on a tight budget.

As a complete date nut, i can't argue with any of that. If date collecting is your thing (like me), then you're in trouble.

It gets worse if you collect by Peck, Freeman, ESC, Davies et al numbers :(

This all looks very confusing, but interesting at the same time. I have a few coins which I bought from a certain year purely for sentimental reasons and my interest is growing mainly because some of the coins are so unusual and pretty but im sorry to say I WAS looking on ebay but wont now and will take a look at the mags in the newsagents to get a rough guide before I make any hasty decisions. I guess there is a risk any any hobby/collection but i'll keep my sights low i think!
