i have an uncirculated 1852 groat which i understand is very rare. it has been in my family for years. does anyone have any information on this coin?

Yes, that's an expensive one in UNC (over £500) but you'd need an expert to verify it truly is UNC.

with regard to chris perkins I should point out that i have no intention of selling this coin as it has been in my family since it was first minted. I am the first to admit that I know nothing about coins but I have been trying to find out something about this coin as my mother, who owns the coin is clearing out her house. For your information the coin was given to my great great grandmother on her wedding day in 1852 and is kept in original envelope with accompaning letter

I have never sold or bought anything on ebay!!!!
