Coin Albums

Recommended Posts

Hi all .. I have been collecting coins in the USA for many years but aving moved to the UK collection here am aiming at expanding my collection to UK coins as well. In the US I primarily use Dansco coin albums which come pre-filled with the information for each individual coin in the set. Is there any comparable album available for UK coins??? I have seen the albums on www.predecimal.com and although they seem very nice for holding a wide variety of coins, they obviously are not tailored to a particular type of coin or a particular subset of coins. Any suggestions on albums.. or if predecimal can offer me any other type would be greatly appreciated.

Regards -- J

The problem with that idea (like the Whitman folders of the 60's) is that when people find new varieties you suddenly don't have enough room....Also, if a space for every known variety was given, you'd have gaps all over the place that would probably never get filled.

Whitman has made nicer albums for some of the old series. You can only get them from certain sellers or on ebay, since they are out of print. These were made for bronze farthings, halfpennies and pennies. In addition, type set albums were made for Victoria and 20th century (minors and silver).

You may want to contact Randy Miller of Chief Coins for more details. I don't know what he may have at this time, but collectors across the pond have had some success getting these albums (as well as folders).
