Don't think it's roman, could you post both sides of the coin (& larger!!) & perhaps put it in the English coins part.

Hi Ben,

Its looks like a Charles VIII of France Gold coin dated 1567 but he only lived between 1470-98 so I must be reading the roman numarals wrongly? do you have anymore scans?
