please could you tell me what this coin is on the reverse its victoria with a crown on with flowing hair facing to the leftwith the words victoria dei gratia britt:regina f:d: around the outside on the front it has a crown at the top than a square with 4 boxes in the 1st box is 3 lions than the 2nd box is a lion stood up directly under that is another 3 lions than to the side of that is a harp the insription around that says honi.soit.qui mal.y.pense...under that the date of 1887 on the rim outside at the top is a worn down knobbley bit the coin looks silver ?? if you could help i would be pleased as it was given to me by my father whos passed away thankyou

Could be one of three things, a halfcrown, a shilling or a sixpence.

But you'd have to give me the size in diameter before i can tell you which of those it is.

It's sterling silver, but sounds as if it has been mounted at the top and thus collector value will be near nil. But it'll still hold its bullion value.
