Half Sovereign sized gold coin

Recommended Posts

I have come across a half sovereign sized gold coin with the young

Victoria head but the reverse seems to me to be unusual. It looks something like a cross between a normal shield half sovereign, but also appears to have a "double eagle" appearance. There is no date, but the inscription around the young victoria is "Victoria Queen of Great Britain" Can anyone help please.
