We'd need descriptions or pictures to actually know what they are. However, if they're proof, they will fetch quite a good sum but if they are just in a folder, loose etc. they will be worth next to nothing

Are you sure these are coins? The only things of real value are the official award medals and the official commemorative medal issued by the Royal Mint. The latter were made in gilded bronze, silver and platinum and were sold in presentation cases. They're piedfort, about 50cm across and have an obverse with the queen enthroned, based on the Elizabeth I sovereign.

This sounds like an unofficial set of 10 coins from 10 commonwealth countries all dated 1977. If so, it's nothing special, but I won't speculate until we get some decent details!

Try using some punctuation next time. It took me a while to work out what your post meant! ;)

Now don't be too hard on the poster William, that's actually quite nicely written compared to some of the emails I get from the brain dead morons, in 'What's it worth' land.

One wonders if they [gl0hot] will ever return to see what's happened. Not many people do, they just post and forget but this guy has registered so there's a chance

If they don't, can you blame them when all they're met with is a a pile of off-topic criticism? Poor English drives me mad too - I'm the editor of a professional journal with a reputation for being a spelling/punctuation/grammar guerilla - but sometimes discretion is the better part of answering enquiries.

(Dear me, I sound like a right oldie!)

Oh no, I wholly agree! Some grammar and spelling on here is quite atrocious!

My spelling and grammar is pretty bad, thus why i don't criticise other people, because when i do i always make a really stupid mistake myself.

Also bear in mind that not everyone who posts on online forums has English as their first language.

Do you mean Britains?

No, a Briton is a citizen of Britain, just as an American is a citizen of America, Frenchman is a citizen of France, Azerbaijani is a citizen of Azerbaijan.
