Thanks Chris,

How do you go about this? is it done through your website host?

Do you know, I can't remember now. I think it's a script that you plop into your cgi area....Or it could be something based on the htaccess procedure.

Just ask for the pictures you need and add courtesy of Rob Pearce with a link to my website www.rpcoins.co.uk. It's up and running, but not finished yet. It will be by the time you need them.

Some nice stuff on your website Rob! I'll have that Princes Trust £5 coin for £4! In fact I'll take 100 at that price.

Great website Rob,

I will be adding it to my favorites, and thanks for the offer of pictures I'm sure I will take you up on it soon. You have some great coins.

Could I have access to use of the images too? Most probably for use in Collectors' Coins (or other Rotographic titles) and with your name mentioned and website. I didn't check, but are a lot of them 300dpi?

Well spotted. When I put the descriptions in order I forgot to move the price too. There's a few obvious copy and paste errors, but on the whole not too bad. The main thing was to get something on every page and worry about padding it out later.

I've checked 2 images and both were 300dpi which is just right for printing. Can I use selected images in CCGB2008?

No problem. Get a list together of what you are looking for and I'll see what else I've got.

Regards whether they are all 300dpi - god knows but they were all taken with the same camera settings, although the auto focus falls down on some darker pieces. So the answer is probably yes. I'm having to wrestle with a new camera, not to mention the monotony of entering lines of programming; neither of which I am particularly adept at.

Great, I'll replace some of the darker images in CCGB2007 with some of yours to see if they come out better. It's impossible to tell exactly how they'll come out until the thing is printed en masse (late next year) but I like to swap and change in the hope that the quality is improved. So far, I have saved your GIII 1s6d 1st head, 1948 Halfpenny, 1920 penny, 1844 half farthing and a WIV groat.

Your pictures might be handy too if I ever decide to go back and cover from the beginning of George III's reign. They all appear to be 300dpi.

I had another idea too: As you've already got all the pictures done, and they seem to be numbered in some kind of systematic way, you know you could very easily plop them all onto predecimal.com where they would have a very good level of exposure. On the predecimal.com BETA I am able to import from a spread sheet, so all I'd need from you would be a list of all the coins, image path, price, weight etc and in a few clicks I could add them all to the site. You could either add a % to each price so that I get something out of it, or would could do some kind of deal somehow. All of the Roman coins on predecimal.com belong to a chap in the USA and were added in the way just described.

You could have pictures of higher grade coins in many instances as most of the coins types I've listed I have in mint state or at least EF because the coins I've put on so far are duplicates together with a few pieces where I've thinned the ranks a bit.

On the second point I'll have a think about it when I'm closer to being finished, but everything is certainly listed and numbered because Mr VATman requires records to be kept and this is being done as a serious venture rather than a sideline.

Sometimes mint condition coins don't look as good as slightly worn ones. I want things that will look good on my pages, not necessarily perfect coins. When I get closer to putting the 2008 together I'll certainly let you know.

Do think about the 2nd point. It really would take minumum effort, and lead to maximum exposure. And my stock lists, being quite depleted at the moment would also benefit from the added numbers.

That is a very good thing to hear, a book with good quality picture like other antique book that I looked on book shop, just to look for a coin picture if there is no coin book around,

I will buy a book with all modern coin and denomination with good quality picture a must have copy for normal struck, excluding variety you can include the variety if you like,Then published it in one huge volume just like a collection in picture, for I will have a difficult time having one in coins.

Loads of cornwall clay to be used for paper gloss and multilayering color printing with base of primary color.

Goodluck to all and to chris.

I have been working away on my British coins website to be named COINS.GB.COM and I have almost completed the Victorian coins section. However I am still in need of pictures. The pictures I would like to add are:

VICTORIA:

Silver penny- Young head,

Jubilee head

Silver two pence- Jubilee head

Silver four pence- Jubilee head (Maundy).

Crown- Gothic Crown.

Sovereign- Young head George & dragon reverse.

Two pounds- Jubilee head.

Old head.

Five pounds- Young head (Una and the lion)

Jubilee head.

Old head.

Close up pictures of die numbers for sixpences, shillings.

I would also like close up pictures of mintmarks for Sovereigns.

If anyone has coins from above and would kindly send me pictures to add to my website I would be most great full. I shall also add Courtesy of "YOUR NAME" below the pictures and a link to a coin related website if you own one.

Many thanks,

Hus Sulo

I have some fractional farthings loitering about in some bank safe deposit box or another, if I can remember where they are I can image and send. I also have a 1676 Charles II Crown that I would like to see again sometime, it has been years since I have visited it.

Thanks Scottishmoney, I would also like a picture of your 1676 Crown if possible I shall be working my way back to Charles II later on . I just need to get Victoria out the way first.

I wish I could show you guys how the website is taking shape. I think it looks great (but I would), I don't want to publish it untill it is complete(ish). :D

Oh don't worry, my site will permanently look uncompletish. There are sections which remain incomplete years after the initial creation.
