Ebay's Worst Offerings

Looks like someone has been stung! Seller has sold all 5 of the 1930 to 1934 modern reproduction Crowns and got genuine piece prices. He has received positive feedback for 4 so far.

Obviously, I wouldn't want to diss anyone in the absence of solid evidence but, I do think it worth pointing out, the history suddenly goes from loads of car parts to wreath crowns. Have you also noted how each example looks exactly the same? Same soapy surface. Same wear to the bust. If I'm wrong I apologise unreservedly. Maybe they're kosher. I don't know...

Which is why eBay now obscures the buyer ids in the seller's feedback, so that nobody can possibly interfere with their corrupt dealings.

Yeah I noticed they are the only coins he has sold.

The 1930 to 1934's are sold on a few websites in China as a 5 coin set or individually. They are about £15 delivered for the set or £2 each. None of the websites have any 1927, 1928, 1929 or 1936 for sale, which also backs up why his 'Uncle' didn't have the more common 1927 or 1928.

They can also be bought individually in 0.900 silver for about £40.

While we're on this subject I had a metal stamp custom made in the U.S. of States "COPY" How would people feel if I were to sell these but ensuring all had copy stamped into either side? No need to go mental or anything, I'm only toying with the idea.

Luv from Dave

No problem at all. If it has copy stamped into one or both sides, it is unlikely to be able to be sold on as a genuine item.

I see it was decided the front of the crown is fine as it is and not in need of any remedial work.

He says "Check photos" - unwise move! (There again, he doesn't say "The coin in the picture is what you'll receive".) :D

9 over inverted 9 (aka 6)?

Yes. I noticed too. Even if the seller had, which it appears they didn't, you have to admire the supremely optimistic grading and opening price!

I was more questioning of the slab contents

You mean CGS don't know a fake from a genuine?
