I think NF isn't ridiculously far out for that shilling, although Fair or GFair (is there such a grade?) might have been more accurate. It's strange that as VF, EF standards get ever lower those for lower grades seem to be creeping up. I suspect no-one cares any more - anything below F might as well be 'poor' because it isn't considered collectable these days.

The bigger businesses would use interlinkexpress. I use them through another company when in Scotland, i can send up to 30 kilos within the EU for £22 (was £15) and my last box arrived in 2 days. I don't think individuals can just wander into a depot and post though but definately worth checking out amd see what is required, maybe there's something in it for you as an agent for them?

On the obverse, am I seeing the pointed crown of a Type 3 Rose farthing, rather than the rarer Type 1 (S3201). Crown and rose proportions are all wrong for Type 1

If you cracked it out of the slab, you'd probably get £1.00 for it on eBay. If you recycled the plastic at your local tip, you might even cover the eBay fees?

Why on earth would anyone, however passionate about slabbing, want to waste money having that graded? The only rarity value it has is that thankfully there are very few in such bad condition. This also begs the question why it wasn't given the minimum possible grade (the apposite - poor 1) on account of the lack of detail. It must be very difficult to decide when to give the lowest possible grade as there is precious little to go on when deciding the reason for the lack of detail.

He wants £1,000 for a 1772 halfpenny in MS62 BN.

"In our opinion this coin is better than the assigned grade suggests. We don't always agree with the 3rd party grading services" - except when the they overgrade.

It's ok. The coin is in Spain - he has probably tried to compensate for the curvature of the earth.
