A load of 1925 2/6's were sold in Aussie recently....they are not rare....a 1835 2/6 or even a 1915 farthing a 1894 halfpenny.....don't tell spink

Fantastic coin, but as you say Beebman, the starting bid is perhaps too highly pitched. He's probably hoping to pique someone's interest sufficient to make the only bid at that level.

Mind, you don't often see pennies before about 1880 in that good a state. Pretty much full lustre. Very desirable specimen.

I would'nt have said FULL LUSTRE as the legends have better lustre as the land and bust, so for me it would be about 30-40% lustrious, quite a high start price though, maybe pricing himself out of a sale at that

Yes saw a few of those myself 1949, not in the market right now though, time to make a few pennies now and save for one or 2 rarer dates.

Absolutely. There's suddenly a lot of good stock available, and it's difficult to know how many to go for, whilst still keeping within budget.

I think it is, high sea is difficult to see - best look at shield base touching border beads and P of penny pointing to a gap

Here's mine (the only one I've ever seen) pulled from circulation years ago.

yup, i won that thing, did so much checking about first though. with the tides, thasnks for the other identifiers, i am confident now it is as the wheel is close to teeth and the P pointing is differant to my other similar grade viccies.

bit of a risk, looked like someone else had a go as well, not that much money so worth a slight gamble

Nice capture, Scott. Those 1897 HT's are hard to come by in any condition.
