This one should be "ebay cry" not "ebay laugh"

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190587060016

Have you seen the reverse photo!! :o

I emailed her 4 days ago to say it was a modern repro and only worth a quid or two. Needless to say with it already at £410 the silence was deafening.

It's been withdrawn. Probably reappear in a few weeks time with an 'ambiguous' description .

£22 postage looks a little excessive!!!

100 pure silver? 22 quid postage? He's gonna do well there, especially when we don't even know the denomination either. Both coins in the picture are 1 and the same, same scratches under the kings bust.

They could be in pure silver because the picture shows the obverses of two identical pieces. If they were different there would be more reason to be suspicious about the pure silver claim, but as we are talking copies they could have been made yesterday and so the description must be taken at face value.

Perhaps I'm totally wrong but this does not look 17th century in the least, it looks like a miniature of a George V Florin

Ah, the beauties of education. I quite like the crossed arrows and pitchfork description. The identification of writing and a man's head deserves plaudits too.

It's clear that this is a 17th century imitation of the coinage of the future.

I though silver was debased to 0.500 in 1920?

The lettering means that it's a 1935 crown, so if it's sterling silver - it's a bargain!

It was. 2 identical obverses means either they can't be genuine, or a copy and paste. If not genuine, then as copies they could easily be 925 silver - god, it's no good when you have to explain. I thought you would have seen through it, or maybe I should have used a different emoticon.

Here's another one, on t'ebay. Hope we can use the word 'wazzock' on here as it's a wazzock what can't grade very well. :P

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/British-1797-farthing-coin-EXTRA-FINE-ALMOST-UNCIRCULATED-EXCELLENT-coin-/280758984397?pt=UK_Coins_BritishMilled_RL&hash=item415e8a1ecd

That's closer to UNC than most wazzocks on ebay get to.

Very true! but methinks it found its true level at the price it finally went for.

Not strictly speaking a laugh, BUT, this is an unsolicited email I received from some tosser who has never purchased from me......

No wonder people hassle you for F/B with your attitude - who would want to buy anything from you - you offer rudeness and parthetic customer service as shown by your own ad. Never seen anything like it before - What sort of business person has this attitude - one that most people will stay clear of I'd reckon

Quite a successful one actually!

Well I can safely say he will be staying well clear of me as he is now blocked!

Dave my customer service may be disgracefully disgustingly appalling, BUT, my discretion is absolute. The muppet shall remain nameless.

 Which will have to do instead of the jaw drop smiley I would have liked.

I'm sorry I didn't list anything this weekend as clearly there are idiots about. For I can't believe that eight people would bid on a coin that they haven't seen, let alone one that the seller has illustrated with a picture of a WRL replica. I just wish I'd thought of it, then I too could be £160 better off!

hammered 1653 shilling

Scam, do you think? Or stupid?

Perhaps Mr £160 actually got sent a picture of this 'Unc hammered shilling'? I'd be inclined towards the 'stupid', but 'scam' incorporates both anyway :D

(This is the 'jaw drop' smiley : :o )

Please don't finger your coins (no its not a title for a blue movie :) ) or if you really must, wear gloves at least:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/numinerva/m.html?_trkparms=65%253A1%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1&rt=nc&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14.l1513&_pgn=1

Ah, but what you don't see is the little piece of Blu-Tack holding it to the finger :D
