Not so much a laugh, but how on earth has this 1860 penny 3+D (as far as I can see from the rather low res pics) reached £550 with 15 hours to go? Am I missing something?

Looks like 2+D, N over sideways N (Z)... barely visible but the die crack by the date is a giveaway. Not quite as rare as people make out but a nice example and price probably about right...

I agree, N over Z, the other clue if you look carefully is the re-entered O in ONE, the two always seem to go together (Gouby 1860 JA). Mine has the same die crack also

That's silly. The whole set of 29 costs less than £100 from the RM. I can't believe that he has sold 29 partial sets.

Not so much a laugh as an interesting curiosity. A counterfeit shilling. Now I don't normally recommend these, however this is as far as I can tell, not a modern concoction, but a contemporary (ie 17th century) coin. The design is surprisingly good (I do wonder if ex-mint employees might not have turned their hands to making counterfeits in the war years) though the silver wash is thin and the base metal shows through, it's an interesting piece of numismatic history.

Personally I think at £80 it's a bit over priced, but these things are actually very rare. And this is a nice example and not a design I've seen elsewhere.
