I don't know what this guy is on but can I have some.

Postage, HOW MUCH!!!!

This is from his about ME page, choice;

"Trust is the most important thing that a person has in life. I hate lyres, thieves and con artists. If you do not have trust. Then you are nothing in life. Yes, we all are human and we do make mistakes. Remember, one thing " Human is to error and to forgive is divine". That was Gods worlds. Thank You Nicholas

If I ever make a mistake on Ebay site. I will go above 100 percent to correct my mistake. I want to make everyone one happy here, and make them money and more. Give everyone a great deal! Thank You Nicholas"

Well Nicholas, I do not like Lyres either, harps are good though :D

I particularly like the description of this one...... and the ridiculous postage.

"Description: On one side: A picture of a soldier with a roman helmet, a septor with three prongs, wearing a toga and sitting on a British shield. to the top of the soldier it says 'FARTHING', their is no lighthouse, but on the right, there is no ship!, just open water. on the back side: a picture of a man, and around him it says (from left to right), GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX FID: DEF: IND: IMP"

Lost the plot

It appears that the obverse is the side with the Roman soldier with his septic septor and his toga and his missing lighthouse and trireme :D Wouldn't it have been simpler just to say "part of beaded border missing"? Not so much fun for us though.

Interesting coin though, is that a common thing, missing beads? On iPhone again, but looks like a good grade....who bought it, then?

I have to confess to not knowing and never checking Stuart. Shite like that just goes straight into a big box to pass along to some poor sap at an auction ;)

I probably wouldn't have noticed the missing denticles myself...but after looking at the coin,it really is an unusual piece. One side of the coin has perfectly formed denticles, and the other side has about 50% of the coin without denticles, though it still has a full rim! I'm not sure how that could have happened. It really is a study!

Yes, very strange to see the full rim! One of the farthing boys on here has snaffled it I reckon! ;)

What looks odd to me which may just be an optical illusion is that the lettering looks too close to the rim for there to be denticals down the left side.

Bob

How was your Florida trip?

Every day I can drive around the country lanes and see guys digging up more history to send over the pond.I search on a monthly basis..weather and family dependant.

On holiday in 2009 we booked a place in Devon with a private beach.A small boat came in and the guy had detectors.I saw him pluck a Victorian diamond ring and several green bronzes before he found a George 111 Sov.All I got was a bucket of shrimp and prawns and a red neck.

Peter,

The trip to the "FUN"Convention in Florida, was pretty good,I found a few pieces I liked. The best show of the Spring was the Chicago International Coin Fair (CICF), as it is directed to World Coin Collectors. I got the following 1837 Penny there. It is really hard to find a 1837 with this much hair on the Monarch.

Sorry about the picture, I'm still working through a new jpeg editing program, and I don't have it down yet! LOL! The coin has a small stain on the obverse, but still a toughie in this condition!

Nice one Bob

After many years of collecting the quality counts...plus a bit of sun and wife and kids treats.Four bags of chips followed by Devon ice cream isn't too bad.The holiday money may get spent. B) I have coincided coin fairs myself. :P

5mithyg clearly has choice crap. However, one cannot fault his description that it would stand out very well in the purchaser's collection. Maybe he's a reincarnation of the guy in Cornwall who used to have this sort of material by the bucketload. Can't remember his id though (cdsteve(?) or something like that.

Caused elderly gent to spit coffee all over his laptop, amusing the lovely Mrs. Bagerap greatly.

"Very Nice Coin in a very Good Condition Hardly Circulated Condition. Valuable Coin, and in VF-EF Condition. Well, Worth The Money, your paying for this item Loads Of Detail."

Rough translation:

"Coin is VG. It's been circulated hard for many years. Valuable coin - the copper alone is worth more than one drachma. Worth throwing into my wishing well. You're paying for this item, if you're fool enough to buy it. Loads of detail if your collection consists of nothing but washers."
