Especially as the authorities can't agree whether it's a pattern or a medallion.

And the Nicholson example was sold by Colin Cooke for £550, and wasn't much different with respect to grade, although it did suffer less corrosion, but had less detail remaining. At best, I'd say it might be worth a punt at £900, but not £9,000. Even then it's not a pretty sight, but then many specimens of this era in well known collections are not in top condition either.

Well, I was thinking one of two things when I wrote the above; that I was either an employee of a TPGC or had my tongue in my cheek!

Edit: I think you'll find the small curls that fall in front the forehead, and the proximal end of the topmost ribbon has AEF Details! I feel certain that this was what he was referring to! (Really big winky eye)!

Well, I was thinking one of two things when I wrote the above; that I was either an employee of a TPGC or had my tongue in my cheek!

Moving away from Dave's arse for a second (not quite sure how that started!), this guy has had some high grade coins for sale today, some of which received no bids at all. This might be in part down to his 'Item condition' statement ("used with wear") which is at variance with his item description ("probably unc")!

I have also made mistakes in my eBay listings (assuming this was a mistake) listing a 'similar item' and failing to change all the description fields from the previous ones, then finding I can't correct my error after a bid has been placed ... has anyone come a major cropper in the same scenario?
