Does anyone have one?

They don't send me a free copy anymore and I'd like to see the info in this months issue about the 1992 10p varieties.

Ditto to that. I let my subscription lapse because I found I was just opening it, skimming through, then shoving it in a drawer. If someone could scan the article I too would be grateful.

I used to get a free one, but then they realised I wasn't advertising anymore (mainly because they wouldn't let me mention my books) and they stopped it.

I've got it but I'll only be getting another two issues as I'm not renewing either. It jut doesn't seem relevant to my interests.

What did you want to know? The Coin Price Guide is for Half Crowns.

It's in the editorial or perhaps readers letter, something like that. It's a piece about the 1992 10p varieties.

Changed my mind! I have e-mailed you. Couldn't attach the file I wanted to send, using PM.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but it is faintly connected.

On the few occasions that I have read Coin News, I have done pretty much what Emperor Oli does - i.e. have a quick look, and then throw it in the recycler. If one article in ten interests me then I am lucky. Problem is that my interests pretty much coincide with most others on this website - British and pre-decimal. I might be tempted to read articles about ancient or mediaeval European coins, but the latest commemorative issue from some tiny republic in the Indian Ocean with a population of 37 leaves me cold. I do not by and large network with other collectors (other than on the internet), so I may be out of touch, but are there any other magazines out there which might suit my interests more closely? If not, I think it's about time we had a word with a friendly publisher!

I really don't think there are any alternatives. The Americans seem to have a better magazine in Coin World; that's weekly and seems to churn out better stuff that CN can in a month. Whenever I'm in the US (which isn't terribly often), I pick up a copy for comparison and find it blows CN out of the water. It must be noted that Coin World focuses on American issues and there is perhaps a larger base for their coins.

I went for a while without resubscibing but for the sake of £30 odd over the year what the heck.

I do keep them and often refer back to read articles as my hobby takes different avenues.

I've currently got a 1979 Coin the independant one magazine at hand (I bought about 100 ranging from the mid 60's to the early 80's under different titles...monthly ,news etc)

These are proving an excellent read with surveys and varieties seemingly popular.

In this particular edition it has an artical on the currency of Louis XVI a series that I've tinkered with but now going to hit hard.
