A trip to Berlin

Recommended Posts

It's our 10th Wedding anniversary in Feb 08 and the wife has treated us to a trip to Berlin for a week, bless her. Well she’s organised it all and I have had to do my bit (as we do) and pay for it. You’d think I should have seen this coming after being married for nearly 10 years!!!

Anyway, does anyone know of any coin dealers/shops etc in Berlin, I’ve been to Berlin a few times before but that was pre coin collecting days (come on, a week with the wife and away from old blighty, I’ll need a coin fix now and again). I’m only interested in GB coins but you never know what lurks in a corner of a foreign field, as they say.

Thanks

P.S.

My wife’s German so I’ve got no choice where we spend our wedding anniversary.

I'm about 2.5 hrs South with loads and loads of British coins. You could come down to the Erzbebirge (bring your skis in February).

Any British coins that you find in Berlin will probably be very well polished, overgraded and overpriced! I've not yet found a German coin dealer that actually knows what they are doing.

Anyone know of any German coin dealers that know what they're doing???

Thanks Chris, I may take you up on this, I'll let you know nearer the time (Skiless though).

I think you'd be lucky to find any German coin shops. I travelled 2000 miles around Northern Germany and looked especially for them - without any sign! :(

Pity my timetable excluded going to see Chris. Maybe next time!
