1822 Tertio Crown - inverted reverse?

Recommended Posts

Guest andsally

Hi all

I am a first-time poster but have had a life-long appreciation of British coins.

Have just acquired an 1822 Tertio Crown in VF condition (i think). The reverse is inverted in relation to the obverse. Would this be a usual occurance for this period?

Thanks,

Andrew

Hello Andrew.

Yes, that's normal for that coin.

Hi Chris

Thanks for that - was hoping that a vague memory about coins of this period was incorrect. Oh well, the luxury holiday will have to wait! Still, a lovely coin though.

Andrew
