Edward III penny

Hi all, heres another coin ive been unable to id, im pretty sure its an Edward III but the mint has me stumped, could it be an error. it looks like civi tas nor d**. any help would be appreciated, cheers , Richard.

The L in CIVI TAS LON DON is blundered so it looks like a D, it is not a D but an L.

So this is a neat error where it appears to read CIVI TAS DON DON, I have an Edward I penny exactly the same.

On closer inspection it looks like it might not be a letter at all, looks like someone had too much ale... :rolleyes:

I'd tend to agree! The obverse doesn't really fit the usual neatness. Look at the initial cross - someone was definitely either cross-eyed or drunk! :lol::lol:
