Anyone know what these are

Recommended Posts

Hi there. I recently found these two 'coins' in a bag of coins which were my late father-in-law's. The larger one is about an inch across and the smaller half an inch. It looks to me like the Star of David is on the fornt of them. They have some kind of writing around the circumference. The back of the coins are bearly legable. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Maroccan, not as old as they look as they were made like that until the 19th century I believe.

Early 19th century Moroccan, these usually have dates in numerals which are familiar to westerners, so that people think they are dated 1323 or something, when in fact that is in the Hejira or Islamic calendar which makes it early 19th century. They are called falus or fals coins.

No, as with 98% of coins, they are not. Simply little demand for that kind of thing.
