faulty 1971 10p

hi, hope someone can help me. I have a 1971 10p which has a section missind which another 10p fits into perfectly. Im guessing that this has been a error when the coin was produced. Has anyone any idea whether the coin will be of any value or is this quite common. thanks

That's interesting. I like errors and always try to buy errors that are anounced in the forum.

So the coin is like a moon shape? Can you post a picture. What I offer will depend on how much of the coin is clipped.

Ive taken a few photos today. unfortunately I dont have any more 10 pence pieces to put against it but a two shilling piece is the same size. Hope this helps

The coin isn't in perfect condition and the size of the clip is not massive, so I'd offer £10 for it.
