Hello everybody im new to this forum and new to the whole coin, sovereign business.

Basically i have a sovereign that was given to me by my nan 15 years ago and iv just found it. It is a United Kingdom proof sovereign,i think (THINK) its a 500th anniversary one. The dates on it are 1489-1989. I just wanted to see how much it is worth,i dont want to sell, just want to find out roughly,i havnt got a certificate for it or proof of purchase,as my nan gave me it.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME im going out of my mind lol

Many thanks.

Welcome to the forum Gooner.

Your coin is one of 10,535 issued and if in absolutely perfect condition, FDC, Spink suggests £750.

Kindest Regards,

Clive.

Having said that, there are a few on ebay for less, and not getting bids. Bizarrely, it would appear that the box is worth nearly as much as the coin!!!!!!!!!!!

Being offered and actually selling are two distinctly different things, I canna see proffering that kind of dosh for a wee box, wi'out the goldie nae less.
