Maundy or not?

hi,

this is my 1st ever post anywhere so i hope i'm doing it right!

my problem is this. i'm currently filing my coins and i am now wrestling with my silver threepence coins. is there any visual difference between the maundy and circulation coins? any help would be grately appreciated. many thanks.

If they are not Uncirculated then the probability is that they are normal threepences. The Maundy issues were struck to prooflike quality and were rarely circulated so are usually GEF or better. It would be impossible to tell on a VF or lower coin, so you have to default it to non-Maundy.

that makes my life easy then as all my silver threepence coins are of the lower grades. many thanks, rick
