Ok I have now put up a test page for the images

Test Page

Top Image is basic you click on it and it goes to full image - Simple

Image 2 - hover over with mouse and it enlarges to full size image - mouse off it reverts to original

Image 3 - Goes into the Picture ox - I like this and was why i was reducing the size of the images to fit on main screen

Image 4 - My Favourite - Magnifys the image in parts move mouse around and use arrow keys up and down to zoom in and out as well.

What does everyone else think? would love to hear some feedback on this, Once you have checked out the test page have a look at the main site and send a message through the form there.

cheers again guys

Very neat. No4 is my favourite too. It is like the system they use on Heritage.

How do you add these type of graphic functions to your pictures?

this is nice, magnifer always good if you are comparing 2 types of same date coins, especially if the differance is minute

I am using a combination of CSS and Java script for it. to add is a huge long piece of coding

<div style="float:left" onmouseover="zoom_on(event,350,350,'Coins/georgev/1936reva.jpg');" onmousemove="zoom_move(event);" onmouseout="zoom_off();"><img src="Coins/georgev/1936reva.jpg" alt="1936 Farthing Zoom Profile" style="padding:0;margin:0;border:0" width="350" height="350" /></div>

<div style="clear:both;">

Thats just for 1 image! so with over 400 farthings in total so far to go on the site.......

Its the image size behind it im looking at just now. each image at present is nearly 1mb so they take time to load, which is why i want to reduce them a bit as well.

There is a program called magiczoom on the internet that you have to pay for and it gives a better quality zoom feature but i dont like it as the image behind it needs to be huge or it is all grainy, I have looked at three different zoom products and made a few changes here and there to come up with that one.

Anyone who wants it can have it!

Keep the feedback coming as i want to get this right.

Cheers

HI JamesRed,

I think I like #3 the best. It is easy to use, and gives a well defined, large view of the coin features.

Regards,

Bob C.

All work very well, my preference would be 4, but I think the window could be slightly larger.

What a coincidence! My wife said something of the sort only the other night, I thought she was drunk!

A great site James, and all options are good. My favourite is 4, and I agree with John that it could be a larger image. I only wish that my own coins could stand such scrutiny.

Site is back online at last - taes ages with all of the images!

Ok If you now look only at image 3 you can use the magnifying glass and then if you click on it it then goes into the picture frame, albeit not the full size image (so it fits on the page.

Im now doing all of the coins with the black background as well.

Cheers
